Information the tool records
When you use the readiness check, we may record:
- a random identifier created for the current browser tab;
- actions such as starting or completing the assessment, opening a manufacturer source, printing a report, or indicating installation interest;
- the selected vehicle category, number of selected loads, whether solar or a home battery was selected, and the preliminary result;
- a broad acquisition category—such as direct, Google, AI assistant, community, or referral—derived from referral information or campaign tags; and
- the time of each event.
Information we do not request in the tool
The current assessment does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, street address, precise location, utility account, vehicle identification number, payment information, or free-text description of your electrical system. We do not currently use Google Analytics or advertising cookies.
Browser and hosting information
The random assessment identifier is stored in session storage and is scoped to the browser tab. Our hosting and security providers may process standard technical information—such as IP address, browser details, request logs, and security signals—to deliver and protect the site. Their processing is separate from the limited product-event table described above.
How we use information
- operate and secure the site;
- measure whether visitors begin and complete the assessment;
- understand which supported systems and actions are useful; and
- diagnose errors and improve the product.
Sharing and sale
We do not sell the product-event data. We may make information available to service providers that host or protect the site, or disclose it when required by law. Links to manufacturer websites are governed by those sites’ own privacy practices.
Retention
Raw product-event records are retained for no longer than 180 days, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, or resolving a documented issue. Aggregated counts that no longer identify a browser session may be retained longer.
Your choices and questions
You can close the browser tab to end the current session identifier. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@v2hcompass.com. Because the assessment does not collect contact details, we may not be able to associate an event record with you unless you provide the random session identifier from your browser.
Changes
If we add advertising, third-party analytics, accounts, lead forms, or materially different data uses, we will update this policy and the tool before enabling them.
